The American Airpower Museum is a non-profit museum founded in 1981. Its mission is to remember, recognize, and honor all aviation personnel who have defended the United States of America and to educate the public about America’s aviation heritage, service, and sacrifice. The museum houses many famous and unique modern and antique aircraft, some in flying condition and some preserved in static displays. There are also exhibits, artifacts, audio-visual presentations, and interactive displays in a user-friendly format. One of the greatest attractions at the museum is the collection of vintage World War II aircraft, including a B-24 Liberator bomber, a P-40 Warhawk, an original North American P-51 Mustang, and an F4U Corsair. There are also aircraft replicas and memorabilia from the United States’ involvement in conflicts from the Korean and Vietnam Wars. The museum offers a variety of interactive experiences, including a “Flight Line Movements” display, a “Navigation Training Track”, and a “WWII Dogfight Combat Simulator.” There are also interactive kiosks that feature photos, audio, and films of the various conflicts and aircraft. Many of these experiences are available only to museum visitors and cannot be found anywhere else. Discover facts about The Main Attraction of Bethpage State Park in Farmingdale, NY.
